Kevin's Café

Exterior

Kevin’s Cafe is a rare treasure in Guangzhou’s cafe scene. It is both quiet and comfortable, without ever feeling intimidating. Decorated like a colonial British clubhouse with wooden floors, large leather sofas and chairs, and a full sized piano, it somehow manages to stay hidden amongst Jian She’s more flashy places. However, what was once an exclusive atmosphere is starting to show a bit of wear-and-tear, and is looking a little rough around the edges if you look close enough.

Café Piazza

Plan view

Cafe Piazza is located in Guangzhou’s World Trade Centre, and is an open plan cafe with a very modern European style and is ideally situated for relaxation after business or a hard day's shopping in the local malls.

While the coffee is hand-made and reasonable, the food suffers from the dreaded Chinese psuedo-foreign make-over. Expect bland flavours with lots of cheese. Pizza's are not the size advertised, and an 11" refers to the size of the plate, not the size of the pizza (which comes in at 9").

What can be said about this universal coffee franchise? Like most other cities in the world, Guangzhou has it's fair share of Starbucks and the same products you expect to find elsewhere can be found here too.
