Kevin's Café
Kevin’s Cafe is a rare treasure in Guangzhou’s cafe scene. It is both quiet and comfortable, without ever feeling intimidating. Decorated like a colonial British clubhouse with wooden floors, large leather sofas and chairs, and a full sized piano, it somehow manages to stay hidden amongst Jian She’s more flashy places. However, what was once an exclusive atmosphere is starting to show a bit of wear-and-tear, and is looking a little rough around the edges if you look close enough.
With the pomp comes high prices, coming in substantially more than Starbucks.

I'm not sure "reasonable" is the right way to classify Kevin's prices. They're rather high with most coffees and drinks costing nearly 50 Rmb.
However, the decor is fantastic. The high prices keep out the Starbucks type riff-raff. Consequently, the atmosphere is quiet and luxurious and makes Starbucks seem like the McDonald's of coffee joints.

You're right Jerry, the prices have increased dramatically since this was written. Fortunately it's still very quiet and relaxing.

I went to Kevin again few months ago. I could smell smoke in the sofa and the room. I prefer they would have non-smoking area. I guess Kevin has been running for years and all the sofa and decoration look old now.
