La Seine is Guangzhou's leading French restaurant, serving very high quality and delicate meals. It is a favourite location for expats and the nouveaux riche, and Sunday's lunch buffet is always popular.

Located on Er Sha Island inside the Xing Hai concert hall, directly opposite the pearl river and Guangzhou Art Museum, it is ideally situated for an evening of romance and luxury.

Prices are, as to be expected, amongst the highest in the city. Decadence is not cheap. However, the Sunday buffet is a good way to experience La Seine at a fraction of the price, and for 98 you can eat as much as you want. It's best to reserve in advance as it gets crowded.

    Dear sir/madam,

today i want to make a reservation for a dinner in La Seine on April 25 for 16 person. After i connect to the waitress (Ms. Chen), she told me that this is too early for the reservation. As I explain her that April is a peak season & we need to reserve a big table at outdoor, she start to loss her manner & reply me very impolite. For me, I guess this is an international restaurant & their waitress should not be like this. Hope you can help to forward this message to the management of this restaurant to improve their services. tks.

    BR,
    Terence

    Dear all,

Today me and my girlfriend, we are French, tried their Sunday buffet.

We were quite disappointed by the quality of the main dishes. The appetizers are OK, the main dishes look really great and makes your appetite grow but finally it is not hot enough or the meat is too hard. However, the desserts are quite good, of course it doesn't need to be heated..

We took a look at the menu and it's astonishingly quite as expensive as in Paris, we're in Gz for Christ's sake!

You may try a meal there if you have the means, but I surely do not recommend you their weekend buffet! (It looks that they also increased their buffet of 20 rmb...)

    Dear everyone,

I tried to make a reservation for the weekend buffet and called in. As Terence said, the way they approach the customers is not quite acceptable as an international restaurant. I guess its the habit of Guangzhou people where they always speak in high tone and assaulting manner plus a kind of short fuse. This kinda turns me off to be honest, expecting a good French restaurant to have a high standard of customer service and yet with those kind of expensive price, its just didnt cut it. And oh the price have gone up to 180 for single buffet.

been going here for almost 2 years and while the cost has risen to 118 rmb, it is still a great value and the pastries are THE best i've found in gz
